Muscle Training and Skin.

Muscle Training and Skin

I have found a somewhat interesting paper that I would like to share with you all.

The conclusion of the paper is that muscle training can seriously clean up the skin! That’s what it says.
In a study conducted by Dr. Fujita and his colleagues at Ritsumeikan University, half of the women were given 30 minutes of cycling twice a week. The remaining women were given muscle training twice a week for about 30 minutes each time, and the results were examined after 16 weeks. The results were,

Muscle training and aerobic exercise → improved skin elasticity and structure of the dermis layer.
The results showed that muscle training increased dermal thickness as well.

To put a finer point on it, collagen and hyaluronic acid, which we often hear about when it comes to skin, increased after training.
And, since the participants in this study were Japanese women, there is a high possibility that the effects will be felt by everyone (*’▽’).

This is still a developing research field, but this will motivate me to do muscle training.
